His Will vs Our Will....The Struggle Is Real

Friday, April 10, 2015

Often times our agenda is totally opposite of God's agenda for our lives. We tend to bring God OUR wants and needs and then expect Him to be like a genie in a bottle and wave the magic wand and make it happen. But have we ever stopped to think, "God what is it that YOU want for me?" You know how we do, "God, bless me with the man or woman of our dreams," "God, bless me with a BMW,"  "God, Bless my business,"  "Let me have perfectly healthy children," etc etc etc. But what if God has a completely different plan for your life?  What if he wants you to experience some things to bring you closer to him? What if God has a plan to make you an advocate for special needs children? What if God needs you drive the lemon to appreciate the luxury? My whole point is His will versus Our Will and trust me I know the struggle is real! I am learning, that when I pray for things that are not in HIS will for my life, it's almost a complete waste of time. So, the question may come, how do you know what HIS will is??? I can't lie I am in the process of learning, but I can share what I understand so far. Having a relationship with Christ is first and foremost. Ladies, it's like knowing your man and his likes and dislikes. Lol! When you are in covenant relationship with Christ, you guys talk, and it's a 2 way conversation, you get closer to HIM and your will then begins to align with HIS will. I still have those moments of wondering, what does God want me to do in specific areas in my life. In those moments I do still pray my desires, but I always end my prayers with Lord, let your will be done in my life and give me the strength to handle whatever that may be. I trust you as the Head of my life and I am casting all of my cares to you. Amen.

  2. The older I get and closer I get in my faith, I'm learning to trust GOD and his plan. I have moments when I have to remind myself to pray for GOD's plan and to ask him to guide my life and direction.

I've come full circle with GOD in my life. Sometimes when GOD takes things from you, it brings you closer to him and I trust HIS plan more now than ever.

    Thank you for this post.

  7. I know exactly what you mean! I've been going through a rough patch that made me question God when is it going to be my turn. I cried, prayed, got angry, and lashed out only to realize that I was still going to have to wait on God's timing. I write in a journal now daily prayers to God. I know that if I remain steadfast my wedding, house, job, and everything else will fall into place. Patience is a virtue.
