#BLOGHER15 here I come!

Wednesday, July 15, 2015

I am packed and ready to have a blast in NYC for Blogher's annual conference. With one day left to wrap my brain around the many activities and to finalize my crazy agenda I can't help but to be thankful. I am thankful to God for allowing me to live something I never even dreamed. I know that God put this blog in my heart and I will continue to use it to glorify HIS name! As I discussed in a previous post, I was very unsure about this conference for various reasons but when God gave me the okay I felt a leap in my spirit! Over the past week or so I begin to receive so many emails from BlogHer about the conference and the many activities and workshops and I truly begin a little anxious and nervous. Seriously, how was I going to make the best of all of this? How was I going to network? Would it be forced or seem awkward? Are my outfit choices a bit much? Blah, Blah, Blah! Just a bunch of worry and anxiety.

Now let's fast forward to last night when I attended Bible Study and the lesson was "Created For Growth." Oh boy, this was for me for sure. We were all given a small bag of Mustard Seeds and the bible study kicked off with this scripture:

Mark 4:30-32 (AMP)

30 And He said, With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable shall we use to illustrate and explain it?
31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when sown upon the ground, is the smallest of all seeds upon the earth;
32 Yet after it is sown, it grows up and becomes the greatest of all garden herbs and puts out large branches, so that the birds of the air are able to make nests and dwell in its shade.

Mark 4:30 asks what can compare to the kingdom of God, keep in mind that the kingdom of God lives inside of every believer. So pretty much how can we describe or illustrate the Kingdom of God aka believers? Mark 4:31 - 32 says we, the believers are like a grain of mustard seed, when planted the mustard seed is super tiny, just like this little blog here, but eventually grows to become the greatest of ALL garden herbs and puts out large branches so that the birds are able to make nests and chill in the shade.

This truly changed my attitude towards the conference, Sitting in bible study holding this bag of mustard seeds and it really tripped me out that they were so tiny, but if watered and nurtured properly this tiny seed becomes the greatest of all garden herbs, I realized that I am the mustard seed starting out so small but with the right environment I am destined to GROW. This conference is me stepping out on faith and creating the right environment for my mustard seed (ME) to grow and become all that God has called me to be.

In case you are wondering what this conference is all about. lol! www.blogher.com
