When
I had my daughter in 2011, my awesome Auntie Cynthia quoted a scripture that
has stuck with me since. In the middle of grief and total sadness from the
death of my baby girl she reminded of something so powerful.
The scripture she
gave me was Philippians 4:8-9, Finally, brothers
and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever
is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or
praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or
received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of
peace will be with you.
What a set of
instructions right?! This blessed me!!! How many of us focus on the wrong in
ourselves or in our lives?? I have told you all how I feel about shorts here so
this topic is actually perfect for these pictures. My hate for shorts was
because I focused all of my energy on what was wrong with me and my body. I
never wore shorts because they show all of the things I am insecure about but
GOD!!!
This scripture
reminds me to shift my focus. No matter what the enemy wants to draw our eyes
to I am determined to find the noble, pure, lovely, and right in every situation
in my life including my imperfect body.

in your heart].

No matter what
is not perfect, keep your eyes and heart on WHO IS! Jesus Christ! People
sometimes laugh at me because I apply the Word Of God to fashion and style but
I think the WORD applies to every single part of our lives. Even the parts that
