Becoming Better & Not Bitter #SundaysWithTot

Oh, what a time to be alive! Some would like to say we are living in the last days because of everything happening around us. I am not here to debate whether we are or aren’t, I just  want to encourage you to get better and not bitter.

I could use my blog to talk about all of the crazy current events or the "hottest" topics,  but instead I'd rather keep teh conversation and my eyes focused on the only constant; that which is Jesus Christ. Keeping my faith in HIM and not in this world helps me to be better and never bitter.

Keeping this focus does not mean that I am oblivious to my surroundings or what is happening in this world. It simply means that I do not place major value in those areas. I place value in prayer. I find myself praying for direction, praying about ways to be the light and the salt and not adding to the darkness.

Realizing of all of the things we are facing in these days can easily make you bitter and angry. But, I encourage you to look around and find ways to be and do better. Look for ways to enhance this world starting with your family, your neighborhood, your community, your online presence and much more. I recognize that this is much easier said than done. But, keeping this at the top of the goals list keeps you focused being the change you want to see.

Jeremiah 17:8 says:

They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."

I had so much fun taking these pictures in the park. This oh so lovely dress is from City Chic!
